Wendy York became the 15th dean and first female to lead business education at Clemson University in 2018, following successful leadership roles in business and academia. She oversees the academic, administrative, and fundraising functions of the Powers College of Business and its 6000+ students and 200+ faculty & staff.

Described as a visionary and entrepreneurial business leader, Dean York is guiding the fastest-growing college to record student enrollment, fundraising and innovative program development. She oversaw the completion of a new 176,000-square-foot building and helped secure the record-setting gift to name the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, the only named college at the university. Prior to joining Clemson, York served as Associate Dean at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business where she successfully created a new faculty research and curriculum unit. She has worked for large and small corporate and nonprofit organizations in a variety of industries. York also started and/or lead four early-stage technology and internet companies, including a database marketing company she founded and sold to a national advertising agency. Subsequently, York spent five years as a venture capitalist where she managed a private portfolio with a market capitalization of $100 million.
