Marie Davis
Field Implementation Manager, Enterprise Sustainability
Aramark
Born and raised in North Carolina, Marie grew up in the Piedmont, but traded the red clay for the sandier soils of the lower Cape Fear where she pursued her B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology at UNCW. After several years in formal education, she made the leap to environmental education with a focus on sustainability and returned to UNCW to complete an M.S. in Environmental Studies. Marie is a sustainability professional, educator, and farmer with a personal passion and professional focus on food waste minimization, single use plastics reduction, and food systems change. Through her role at Aramark, she engages with both operators and consumers around Aramark’s Be Well. Do Well. sustainability strategy to support implementation, drive progress against Aramark’s planet priorities, and inspire innovation. Prior to her time with Aramark, Marie’s professional career included diverse experiences centered on sustainability and education in the nonprofit, government, and private sectors. In her free time, Marie is passionate about teaching others the many benefits of growing one’s own food, particularly in closing the loop from seed-to-fork-to-waste. When her hands are not in the dirt, she can be found playing at the beach, camping, kayaking, and cooking up a storm – generally with her trusty canine shadow, Chevy.
