
Jeff Schuetz

Jeff holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and has over 40 years of leadership experience in industrial research and development. Prior to joining Sonoco, Jeff was employed for 14 years with Viskase Corporation, a manufacturer of specialty films and casings for the meat and dairy industry. Jeff joined Sonoco Products Company in 1996 as Technology Manager for the newly formed Flexible Packaging Division. Prior to his August retirement, he led a global team responsible for the technology efforts across Sonoco’s Consumer Packaging businesses including flexible, rigid paper and rigid plastic packaging. In addition to Product and Process Development, Jeff’s responsibilities included Open Innovation, Product Safety, Sustainable Packaging Design, and IP Management. He chaired Sonoco’s Corporate Technology Council and served on its Sustainability Council. Jeff is the outgoing chair of the advisory board of Sonoco FRESH at Clemson University and has been a long-time member of the advisory board of the Sonoco Institute at Clemson as well as the board of directors for the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation. He holds 45 U.S. patents related to packaging.
