Dave VanDeventer has worked in the Solid Waste and Recycling Industry for more than 20 years. He is the Solid Waste and Recycling Manager of Clemson University; Dave oversees the universities day to day waste operations that includes recycling and composting.  He has helped Clemson University to become a national leader in waste diversion for their Recycling, Composting, Construction and Zero Waste programs.

While leading the waste diversion efforts, Dave works diligently to drive support and innovation by inspiring student to partake in Creative Inquiries, Internship Programs and Volunteerism. Dave regularly engages with Faculty on projects that benefit sustainability by collaborating on projects such as the Sustainability Action Plan and The Clemson University Waste Management Plan. On campus Dave is a committee member for the CU Sustainability Commission and the Solid Green Committee. Dave supports several industry groups such as the ACC Sports Sustainability Committee, The Green Sports Alliance, The US Compost Council, and The College and University Recycling Coalition. He is a current board member of the Carolina Recycling Association.  Dave lives in Easley, SC with family and enjoys running, hiking, and golf when not spending time with his family, volunteering or serving as a Trustee in his church.
